Successful training on dispensing technology for our Polish sales partners

As part of a two-day technical training programme, our Polish sales partners once again visited us at our site in Germersheim. The aim of the event was to present current product innovations in a practical setting and to explain their application possibilities in detail.
The focus included, among other things:
- The WVC valve controller, which can be used to operate the full range of electric and electro-pneumatic spray, pulse and dispensing valves from Walther Systemtechnik GmbH, as well as many conventional valves.
- The fully electric WPV pulse valve, which enables particularly simple, cost- and time-efficient integration thanks to its integrated control and monitoring technology – without the need for additional external control systems, software or programming.
- The WDBS pressure tank series for media supply, equipped with integrated control for agitator, level detection and process valves, ensuring reliable and process-safe delivery of liquid media.
During the training, our guests were able to commission the systems themselves, test them and explore typical application scenarios. The intensive technical exchange made it possible to delve deeper into technical details and discuss specific practical questions.
We would like to thank our partners for their visit, their interest and the valuable exchange, and we are already looking forward to welcoming them again in the future.

Today we introduce Kai-Uwe Garthe, Sales Manager at Walther Systemtechnik. Having been part of our team for just over a year, Kai-Uwe brings his passion for communication and direct customer interaction into his work every day. What Kai-Uwe values most about his role is its variety. Building long-term customer relationships and engaging in personal dialogue are central to his work. He particularly enjoys seeing how an initial conversation and idea develop into a fully functional dosing or application system, while getting to know a wide range of companies and people along the way. Kai-Uwe is motivated by the goal of continuously developing his skills and using this progress to actively support the company’s ongoing success. His key strengths include strong teamwork skills, excellent communication and a consistently customer-focused approach – essential qualities for his role in sales. Outside of work, Kai-Uwe enjoys playing football and spending time with his family and friends. His advice to his younger self: start with an apprenticeship and then continue with a dual study programme or a bachelor’s degree at a university of applied sciences. Team spirit, action and shared experiences
At Walther Systemtechnik, innovation and precision go hand in hand with a strong sense of togetherness. This year, a variety of after-work events are planned for our employees, with family members also warmly invited. The programme started in February with an energetic indoor football tournament. Efficient dosing processes: Control vs. regulation - what makes the difference?
In industrial dosing processes, controlling the quantity dispensed is crucial for quality and efficiency. But how can you ensure that dosing is always precise? We compare four different control models and show how the Walther Valve Controller (WVC) drastically reduces the integration effort. Figure 1 (🇬🇧 5): Classic PLC control without feedback
The valve is opened for a fixed time ⏱️, but the actual quantity discharged can fluctuate - e.g. due to changes in pressure or viscosity. Without measuring the actual discharge quantity, process reliability remains limited.Figure 2 (🇬🇧 6): PLC with volume flow meter for process evaluation (IO/NIO)
Measuring the discharged quantity is possible, but involves a high level of integration effort (additional hardware, software adaptations, calibration and fine adjustment). Figure 3 (🇬🇧 7): WVC control with volume flow meter for process evaluation (IO/NIO)
Low integration effort via plug-and-play: Automatic calibration and compensation of dead times facilitate commissioning. The volumetric flow is controlled directly via the WVC, without complex PLC adaptations.Figure 4 (🇬🇧 8): WVC as a control system
The highest level of process control: regulation instead of control! The WVC dynamically adjusts the valve opening time to ensure a constant discharge rate - regardless of external influencing factors such as pressure or viscosity fluctuations. Conclusion: If you want process reliability with minimum effort, there is no way around a solution with the WVC!

Employee spotlight: Tom Oswald
Today we would like to introduce Tom Oswald, Sales Manager at Walther Systemtechnik. Since 1 May 2020, Tom has been an integral part of our team, shaping customer relationships with his technical expertise and strong commitment. What Tom enjoys most about his role is the daily interaction with customers, both in person and over the phone. Customer site visits are a particular highlight for him, as they allow him to experience the wide range of applications within our portfolio first-hand – from primary forming and forming processes to highly automated assembly systems. New challenges and the opportunity to help develop solutions for emerging technologies make his work varied and stimulating. Tom is especially motivated by strong team spirit, collaborative problem-solving and satisfied customers. When everyone works together towards a common goal and the best possible solution is achieved, that is his greatest reward. One of his key strengths is his excellent communication skills combined with a calm and structured approach to analysing complex processes. No challenge is too demanding – Tom remains focused and solution-oriented. Outside of work, Tom enjoys being creative as a DJ, creating emotional experiences through music. He also stays active through fitness training and various ball sports. His advice to his younger self: life is not always easy and can sometimes feel unfair. What matters most is not giving up and keeping your goal in sight – success is a staircase, not a door. Reflecting on his career path, Tom says he would follow it exactly the same way again – although he would place more emphasis on learning English during his school years. Tom, we are proud to have you as part of the Walther Systemtechnik team.

Today we would like to celebrate a special anniversary: Ulrike has been an integral part of Walther Systemtechnik for an incredible 25 years. Her journey with us began as a temporary employee. It quickly became clear how committed and versatile she is. Over the years, Ulrike has worked in various departments – from administrative roles in accounting to the quotations department and purchasing, and finally to her current position as a full-time employee in logistics. Ulrike is a great example of how continuous development is possible through dedication and commitment. Her many years of experience and valuable support have helped shape our company over time. Controlled Sealing Compound Application Using the WSV
The WSV is highly versatile. In addition to being used as a spray valve, it can also be operated as an outlet valve without pneumatic actuation, for example for the controlled application of highly viscous sealing compounds.
In the application shown, the sealing compound is precisely applied to the sealing edge of a housing by a robot. The uniform application along the defined housing contour ensures a continuous sealing bead and reproducible sealing quality.
In combination with a coordinated conveying system, the setup enables controlled dosing even when processing highly viscous media.
The precise application of the sealing compound reliably protects electromechanical components against moisture, dust and other environmental influences and contributes to the long-term functional reliability of the assembly.

35 years at Walther Systemtechnik is a remarkable milestone. Today, we would like to recognise our colleague Thomas Danz, who has been part of our team for an impressive 35 years. Thomas began his career at Walther Systemtechnik in design and project engineering. He later moved into field sales, where he demonstrated his technical expertise and strong customer focus. Today, he is a well-established and reliable member of our technical inside sales team. His extensive knowledge, many years of experience and ongoing commitment make him a highly valued team member. Metalworking TechDays
An inspiring start in Mannheim: the Metalworking TechDays brought together industry experts and production managers to exchange insights on current developments in metalworking. Renowned companies and institutions such as RWTH Aachen University, HYDAC Group, DMG MORI, Daimler Truck AG, John Deere and MAPAL Dr. Kress KG shared valuable perspectives through expert presentations. The focus was on forward-looking metalworking fluids, innovative cleaning media and modern corrosion protection solutions.
For us, the event provided an excellent opportunity to present our expertise in dosing and application technology. The focus was on precise application using spray and pulse technologies, as well as on process data acquisition and process control in automated production systems.

From brewing kettle to puzzle adventure!
Recently, our sales force and technical office staff enjoyed a special team event that provided plenty of fun, team spirit and shared experiences.The day started with an exclusive tour of the brewery. Here, the team immersed themselves in the art of brewing beer and learnt about the individual steps of the process in a relaxed atmosphere.But that was just the beginning: the team then headed to the escape room! Here, the team put their skills, communication skills and team spirit to the test. With creativity, strategic thinking and a good dose of humour, they cracked the puzzles and successfully completed the mission.Such shared experiences not only strengthen team cohesion, but also promote mutual understanding and cooperation in everyday life. Welcome to the next chapter at Walther Systemtechnik! Our two former trainees successfully completed their training as industrial clerks in January 2024 and are now starting their career-integrated studies in business administration at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. We are particularly proud that we were able to take on both graduates as permanent members of our team after their training. Not only will they remain a valuable part of the Walther Systemtechnik family, but they will also be able to deepen and expand their knowledge and skills through the combination of professional practice and studies. The Development Department on the Move: Hiking in the Palatinate Forest
The latest team event of the development department at Walther Systemtechnik took colleagues on a shared hike through the Palatinate Forest. The route covered around 9 kilometres with approximately 350 metres of elevation gain, offering several hours of activity, conversation and time in nature. After the hike, the team rounded off the day at the Marienhof winery. Enjoying good food in a relaxed atmosphere provided further opportunity for professional and collegial exchange. Team events like this support communication, strengthen cohesion and make an important contribution to successful collaboration at Walther Systemtechnik.

Summer Party 2024 – An Unforgettable Experience!
This year, we once again celebrated our traditional summer party. Under bright sunshine, there was plenty of entertainment for the whole family. The younger guests in particular had a wonderful time – from imaginative face painting to the bouncy castle, which was a highlight for visitors of all ages. Food and refreshments were also well taken care of: delicious barbecue specialities, fresh side dishes from the caterer and a refreshing frozen yoghurt stand, providing the perfect way to cool down on this summer’s day. The selection of drinks offered something for everyone – from coffee and soft drinks to refreshing beverages for all age groups. Cured and ready for operation
The spray valves of the WSV series are designed for use in industrial production environments with increased mechanical, thermal and environmental loads. For this reason, Walther Systemtechnik deliberately relies on protective methods such as potting of electronic components during the manufacture of the valve assemblies. The potting process reliably protects the integrated electronics against mechanical impact, moisture, contamination, as well as extreme temperatures and thermal cycling, thereby making a significant contribution to long-term functional reliability. The valve heads shown here have been potted with a high-quality two-component polyurethane resin. After curing, the resin increases the mechanical stability of the assembly and ensures reliable operation of the spray valves even under demanding industrial conditions.

Lubricant Expo North America will take place in Detroit from 19 to 21 March 2024. The trade fair is specifically focused on the lubricants industry and provides a specialised platform bringing together solution providers, users and the entire supply chain for lubricants, chemicals and equipment. As a specialist in the conveying, dispensing and precise application of lubricants, Walther Systemtechnik will be exhibiting at Lubricant Expo North America. Lubrication of rolling bearings – project successfully completed
For the precise lubrication of rolling bearings, Walther Systemtechnik has developed and successfully implemented an advanced lubricant application system. The system specifically addresses the high requirements for component lubrication in rolling bearing production, particularly for small batch sizes and a high degree of product variation.
The core of the solution is the use of pulse valves, which enable pinpoint and reproducible lubricant application. The system is designed to be adapted quickly and efficiently to changing production requirements. Automation, low set-up effort, integrated recipe management and continuous process monitoring are consistently combined within a single solution.
High flexibility and fast changeover: By simply replacing the gripper jaws, the system can be quickly adapted to different bearing dimensions and bearing types. This enables short set-up times and economical production even with frequent product changeovers.
Automated lubrication process: Manual loading of the rolling bearings is complemented by a fully automated sequence. This includes component pick-up, positioning and alignment, single- or double-sided lubricant application, and subsequent component removal. The result is consistently high quality and excellent repeatability of the lubrication process.
Integrated recipe management: Lubricant recipes and application parameters can be stored and retrieved on a bearing-type-specific basis. This increases process reliability, reduces operating errors and ensures that each bearing variant is lubricated exactly in accordance with its technical requirements.
Reliable process control: Integrated monitoring functions continuously safeguard the lubricant application process. Dispensed volume and application position are monitored, ensuring precise dosing and a high level of process stability.

Technical exchange: Training session with our Hungarian partners successfully completed
The three-day technical training programme with our Hungarian partners covered both theoretical fundamentals and hands-on applications in metering and application technology. The objective was to provide structured insight into current product developments, system concepts and typical application scenarios, and to discuss these in depth.Active participation and intensive technical exchange enabled valuable insights to be gained, particularly with regard to practical market requirements and the further development of metering and dispensing solutions. Direct discussions on specific applications and process-related challenges made a significant contribution to the success of the training.We highly value the open exchange of experience and the close cooperation. Going forward, we will continue this dialogue to share expertise, further strengthen application know-how and jointly develop practical, process-reliable solutions in metering and dispensing technology.

Pump system for highly abrasive thermal paste
This pump system is designed for the handling of demanding media. As a customised solution, it features an application-specific design and is configured as a tandem system to ensure uninterrupted conveying of highly abrasive thermal interface material. The integrated homogenisation ensures continuous mixing of the medium, which is prone to rapid separation. To guarantee uniform media supply, a downstream gear-type flow meter is integrated to continuously monitor the volumetric flow rate. This enables constant conveying, an accurate dosing basis and increased process efficiency. The application of the thermal interface material is carried out via a hand-held outlet valve, making the system suitable for flexible application processes. The pump system was developed to meet high requirements for reliability and performance and provides clear added value when handling highly abrasive media.
