Walther Dosing Bundle ISO‑50
The Walther Dosing Bundle ISO‑50 is a fully pre‑assembled dispensing system for the automated application of materials using robots. It combines a precise outlet valve, a 90° fitting combination for Luer‑Lock cartridges, flexibly selectable cartridge systems in three sizes with holder and cartridge adapter for the compressed‑air connection, as well as a robust ISO‑50 mounting concept – forming a compact unit for industrial‑scale use.
System Design and Function: The dosing bundle is mounted to the robot arm via the ISO‑50 flange on the end effector and is ready for operation immediately after the electrical connections and compressed‑air supply have been installed. Once the filled cartridge has been inserted, the dosing process can start straight away.
The system enables precise, repeatable and process‑reliable application of low‑ to high‑viscosity media – from lubricants and release agents to adhesives and sealants, as well as fluxes and corrosion protection compounds.
Smart Valve Technology: The outlet valve integrated in the Walther Dosing Bundle is based on the proven valve platform of the award‑winning WSV spray valve. As an electrically actuated, needle‑closing valve, it offers a high switching frequency and ensures fast, clean opening and closing of the material flow. The dosing operation is reproducible and virtually drip‑free – even at short dosing times and high cycle rates. This makes the valve suitable for both precise dot dosing and continuous bead application, depending on process requirements.
The stainless‑steel design and robust wetted materials ensure broad media compatibility, high chemical resistance, long service life and reliable operation – even with demanding materials and under challenging process conditions.
With integrated electronics and an Ethernet‑based bus interface, the valve can be seamlessly integrated into automated production systems. Via the web‑based dashboard, valve parameters – such as switching times, operating modes (e.g. pulse, hold or trigger mode), switching states and digital input/output signals – can be conveniently visualised, adjusted and stored.
Four digital inputs and outputs (DIOs) enable direct communication with the robot controller or PLC – for example, to start the dosing cycle, provide status feedback or activate predefined functions. An integrated push button allows manual actuation of the valve directly on the end effector – ideal for functional checks, maintenance tasks or quick verification of the material flow during commissioning.
The high level of functional integration ensures maximum process reliability, straightforward handling and optimum connectivity within modern automation environments.
Conclusion: With its compact design, integrated electronics and standardised ISO‑50 interface, the Walther Dosing Bundle ISO‑50 provides an uncomplicated entry into robotic dosing technology and is equally suited to demanding applications in series production.
