The container scanner with mounting bracket adds a key function to the WPS Pro pump system for secure and fully documented media supply. It enables barcode scanning directly on the material container to identify the medium type and the corresponding batch number (batch ID).

In combination with the “container data acquisition” function, which can be activated in the WPS Pro, the scanner supports two central applications:

  1. Internal media validation: Before a dosing process starts, the system compares the scanned medium type with the target medium stored in the controller. Operation is only enabled if both match. This prevents incorrect filling and ensures that all process-relevant data is reliably documented.
  2. External data synchronisation via Modbus TCP: Optionally, the scanned container data can be transmitted via Modbus TCP to a higher-level controller (e.g. PLC or MES) for further processing or archiving. This allows the scanner to be used in fully networked installations and supports complete traceability of media changes.

The included mounting bracket enables ergonomic and vibration-secure installation directly on the WPS Pro. This keeps the scanner within immediate reach of the operator without requiring additional space. The scanner is delivered preconfigured and is suitable both for new installations and for retrofitting existing WPS Pro systems (serial number required).

User benefits:

  • No incorrect filling – automated comparison of target and actual media ensures that the correct material is used.
  • Recorded batch data – barcode capture of batch numbers simplifies traceability in quality-critical processes.
  • Automated process release – with media validation enabled, the system only operates when the correct medium is scanned.
  • Extended system integration – Modbus TCP connectivity enables use in digitally networked production lines.
  • Fast and stable installation – the bracket ensures secure positioning and immediate availability.
