The WGV‑32 medium switch is designed for applications that require the targeted redirection of viscous media flows between two alternative pipeline paths. Typical areas of use include switching between main and bypass lines, pressure relief in defined pipeline sections, or the selective activation of separate supply zones in redundant systems.

At the heart of the unit is an electrically actuated 3/2-way seat valve that enables a clear switching of flow direction: In the de-energized state, the central flow path is open while the lateral outlets are closed. When a 24 VDC control signal is applied, the valve switches – shutting off the central flow channel and redirecting the media to the lateral branches. An integrated return spring automatically restores the original flow direction in the event of power loss. A manual override is also available for maintenance purposes.

The WGV‑32 medium switch is suitable for use with lubricating greases up to NLGI grade 2 and oils in ISO VG classes 10 to 68. Its robust solenoid coil combined with proven seat valve technology ensures short switching times of approximately 50 to 60 milliseconds and reliable operation at working pressures of up to 200 bar.

The housing of the WGV‑32 meets the requirements of protection class IP65, offering reliable protection against dust and water jets – ideal for demanding industrial environments.

Thanks to its compact dimensions (approx. 102 × 79 × 143 mm), the valve is ideally suited for space-saving installation in new or existing fluid and dispensing systems – including pneumatic-free system environments. As part of the Walther MODULAR system, the WGV‑32 can also be quickly and reliably connected to additional functional units via a standardized connector set.

Typical applications:

  • Switching between main and bypass lines during maintenance or system faults
  • Alternating supply of two zones from a central media source
  • Pressure relief by diverting flow to return or depressurization lines
  • Selective media supply to parallel-running consumers
  • Zone-controlled processes with automated switching and no manual intervention

  • valves available for many applications (3/2, 2/2 NO / NC)
  • compact design compared to electro-pneumatic ball valves
  • fast switching times (< 50 [ms]) and switch frequencies possible
  • low-wear operation, particularly compared to ball valves

  • operating pressure: max. 200 [bar]
  • dimensions (l x w x h) (version 2/2): 102 x 79 x 125 [mm]
  • dimensions (l x w x h) (version 3/2): 102 x 79 x 143 [mm]
  • weight (version 2/2): 1,2 [kg]
