The pneumatically actuated SMS-22 spray valve is designed for the precise, uniform application of low- to medium-viscosity media. Typical applications include the application of oils, greases, release agents, corrosion inhibitors, paints, or low-viscosity adhesives – especially in automated production processes with high demands on process reliability and dosing accuracy.
The valve needle is opened by control air and reliably returned by separately supplied closing air in combination with spring force. This force-assisted return ensures a defined, media-free cut-off at the nozzle – even under increased material pressure.
The atomizing air is supplied independently of the control air via a separate connection. It can be activated before the material flow begins and continue after the needle closes. This enables immediate atomization and simultaneously supports the automatic cleaning of the nozzle tip. Pre- and post-air flow times can be freely defined on the system to optimally adapt the spray pattern to the media and process requirements.
Two pilot valves are required for external control; an externally controlled 3/2-way valve is recommended for the atomizing air, especially at low operating pressures. The pneumatic control elements are not included.
The dosage amount can be precisely adjusted via a finely ratcheting needle stroke adjustment. An optional version with integrated sensors is available, which provides feedback on the open state of the needle. Air Caps and jet are available in various versions for round and flat jets and can be adapted to specific components.
With its compact design, reliable operation and high variability, the SMS-22 is the ideal solution for demanding spraying applications in a wide variety of industries.
