At its core is eccentric screw technology. A metallic spindle rotates eccentrically within a flexible stator, creating geometrically defined metering chambers. These chambers transport the medium to the outlet at a constant volume per revolution. The result is a uniform, pulsation-free flow – independent of pressure and viscosity fluctuations. This makes RotoStream Dose! ideal for spot and bead applications with the highest demands on metering accuracy and reproducibility.
Constant order at variable speed: A key performance feature for use in automated applications is the speed-proportional control of the flow rate. Analog input signals directly couple the spindle speed to the travel speed of robots or linear axes. The flow rate adjusts to the movement of the handling system in real time, ensuring that the amount of material per unit of travel remains constant. Even with complex path profiles, the feeder geometry remains stable; material build-up in curves or under-dosing at high speeds is effectively prevented. This precision is the hallmark of the entire system. RotoStream series, which was specifically developed for the requirements of highly automated production environments.
The active retraction function ensures clean material termination after dispensing. By selectively reversing the spindle's direction of rotation, the pressure in the material chamber is immediately reduced, minimizing dripping and stringing. This results in clearly defined start and end points, even with low-viscosity or thixotropic media.
Plug-and-produce through integrated control and software-free configuration: RotoStream Dose! features a fully integrated control system, eliminating the need for an external controller. This minimizes interface risks, reduces integration effort, and simplifies commissioning. Parameterization is performed directly via the browser-based user interface. Dosing quantities can be defined either volumetrically or by weight; stored material densities are automatically taken into account by the system, eliminating the need for manual conversions.
Versatile media compatibility: Various materials are available for wetted components such as the housing, rotor, stator, and seals, including PEEK and stainless steel in standard or passivated versions. This makes the metering valve ideally suited for a wide range of low- to high-viscosity media, including reactive materials such as adhesives and sealants. An integrated liquid reservoir reliably shields the media-carrying area from environmental influences. This prevents the ingress of air or moisture, protects the medium from premature curing, and ensures stable restart after production interruptions.
Sizes: The RotoStream Dose! is available in five different sizes, enabling precise scaling to meet specific process requirements. The range extends from small-volume applications starting at 0,003 cm³ to flow rates of up to 60 cm³/min. Since only the internal rotor geometry varies, the valve's external dimensions remain identical across all variants. This ensures maximum flexibility in process design and reduces engineering effort, as an integration created once remains universally valid for all sizes.
Add-ons and updates: The "Multi-Parameter Sets" software add-on is available to expand the functionality of the RotoStream progressive cavity metering valve. Firmware updates can be installed automatically, enabling continuous optimization of the valve functions.
