The Walther Dosing Bundle ISO-50 is a fully pre-assembled dosing system for automated material application with robots. It combines a precision outlet valve, a 90° fitting combination for Luer-Lock cartridges, flexibly selectable cartridge systems in three sizes with holder and cartridge adapter for compressed air connection, and a robust ISO-50 mounting concept into a compact unit for industrial series production.
System structure and function: The dosing bundle is attached directly to the robot arm via the end effector's ISO 50 standard flange and is ready for immediate use after connecting the electrical cables and compressed air supply. The dosing process can be started immediately after inserting the filled cartridge.
The system is suitable for the precise and repeatable, process-reliable application of flowable to pasty media – from lubricants and release agents to adhesives and sealants, as well as flux and corrosion protection agents.
Smart valve technology: The outlet valve integrated into the Walther Dosing Bundle is based on the proven valve platform of the award-winning WSV spray valve. As an electrically actuated, needle-closing valve, it offers a high switching frequency and ensures fast, clean opening and closing of the material flow. Dosing is reproducible and virtually drip-free, even with short dosing intervals and high cycle rates. This makes the valve suitable for both spot dosing and continuous bead applications – depending on the process requirements.
The stainless steel design with robust, media-contacting materials ensures versatile application possibilities, high chemical resistance, long service life and reliable operation – even with demanding materials and process conditions.
Thanks to integrated electronics and Ethernet-based bus connectivity, the valve can be seamlessly integrated into automated production systems. Valve parameters – such as switching times, operating modes (e.g., pulse, hold, or trigger mode), switching states, and digital input/output signals – can be conveniently visualized, adjusted, and saved via the web-based dashboard.
Four digital inputs and outputs (DIOs) enable direct communication with the robot system or a PLC, for example, to start the dosing cycle, for status feedback, or to activate predefined functions. An integrated push button allows manual activation of the valve directly at the end effector – ideal for functional tests, maintenance work, or quickly checking the material flow during commissioning.
Functional integration ensures maximum process reliability, ease of use and optimal integration into modern automation environments.
And finally ... With its compact design, integrated electronics and standardized ISO-50 interface, the Dosing Bundle ISO-50 from Walther Systemtechnik offers an uncomplicated entry into robot-assisted dosing technology and is also suitable for demanding applications in series production.
