The Walther orifice plate (WSB) is a compact module from the Walther MODULAR series and serves to precisely limit the flow rate of a fluid stream. It creates a defined cross-sectional constriction, thereby reducing the flow rate in a controlled manner. Unlike conventional throttling elements, which affect the flow rate over a longer distance, the orifice plate acts at a single point and abruptly – with the advantage of a stable pressure drop that keeps the flow rate largely constant even under changing operating conditions.
The orifice plate is particularly suitable for protecting downstream components that rely on a consistent supply of lubricants or other media. Its use effectively limits pressure peaks and uncontrolled flow fluctuations, thus making a significant contribution to the operational reliability of sensitive systems.
The actual orifice body is designed as an insert and can be easily removed by loosening the housing cover. This design not only simplifies cleaning and maintenance but also allows for adjustment of the flow characteristics via different orifice variants. This makes the module flexibly adaptable to different media, process requirements, or applications.
Typical applications of the Walther orifice plate can be found in fluid, metering and lubricant systems, especially in combination with distribution lines, filter systems and sensitive control systems.

Despite its compact size of 51 × 79 × 44 mm and simple design, it offers a consistently reproducible flow characteristic with only minimal dependence on the medium and viscosity.
