Intelligent filtration, safer production: The diagnostic-capable WFSD filter system from Walther Systemtechnik was developed for applications where consistently high media purity and process stability are crucial. It reliably filters the medium flow, protects downstream components in the fluid system from contamination, and thus contributes significantly to the repeatability of industrial manufacturing processes.
Unlike conventional filter systems, the WFSD features diagnostic electronics that continuously monitor key process parameters: inlet and outlet pressure, medium temperature, degree of contamination, and filter cartridge lifespan. The current status is displayed on an integrated screen. Operation and configuration are conveniently performed via buttons directly on the device – for example, to set alarm thresholds, display units, or to activate password protection.
Full control instead of unplanned downtime: For integration into automated environments, the system also offers an RS485 interface with MODBUS-RTU protocol. This allows operating data and device settings to be read and configured externally. Four digital alarm outputs (24 VDC) can be assigned to individually defined process events, such as signaling limit exceedances for pressure, temperature, or contamination level. The combination of local display, external communication, and individual signal output forms the basis for predictive maintenance: The optimal time for cartridge replacement can be planned, and downtime can be minimized.
Easy maintenance without tools: The WFSD is equipped with Filter cartridges Available in three filter finenesses (150 µm, 300 µm, 500 µm). These can be changed without tools: open the sealing screw, insert the cartridge, close it – done. Venting after replacement is quick and reliable via the integrated vent screw. Thanks to its robust design, the filter unit is also suitable for applications with high differential pressures and can be used flexibly with a wide variety of non-aggressive liquid media such as lubricants or process oils.
Compact and compatible: As part of the Walther MODULAR The WFSD filter system can be quickly and reliably combined with other functional components using a standardized modular connector set. Its compact design (153 × 79 × 91 mm) and G½" connections allow for easy integration into new or existing fluid and dosing systems.
