Plug-in Cube WSB
The Walther Plug-in Cube (WSB) is a compact module in the Walther MODULAR series, designed for the targeted limitation of media flow rates within fluid circuits. It incorporates a defined orifice geometry that creates a localised restriction, reducing the volume flow in a controlled manner. Unlike traditional throttle elements that affect flow over a longer distance, the Plug-in Cube generates an abrupt pressure drop at a single point, ensuring stable flow behaviour even under changing operating conditions.
This makes the WSB particularly suitable for protecting downstream components that rely on a consistent supply of lubricants or other fluids. Pressure spikes and irregular flow conditions are effectively minimised, contributing to the operational safety of sensitive systems.
At the heart of the cube is a removable orifice insert, which can be accessed by simply removing the top cover. This design allows for easy maintenance and cleaning, and enables the flow characteristic to be adjusted by selecting different orifice variants. As such, the module can be flexibly adapted to different media types, process requirements or application scenarios.
Typical areas of application include fluid, dosing and lubrication systems – especially in combination with distribution manifolds, filtration units and sensitive control components.
As part of the Walther MODULAR system, the Plug-in Cube (WSB) can be quickly and reliably combined with other functional modules via the standardised modular connector set. Despite its compact footprint of 51 × 79 × 44 mm and its simple mechanical design, the Plug-in Cube provides a consistently reproducible flow performance with only minor sensitivity to viscosity or media variations.
